Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Diane Nukuri, Iowa

Sr., Pickering, Ontario/Butler County Community College

Nukuri paced her Hawkeye's squad to an eighth place finish by crossing the tape third at the Pre-NCAA National meet in Terre Haute, Ind.  Her time of 20:11 became a new personal best and trumped the previous school record of 20:34 which she acquired along with Meghan Armstrong in 2006.  This was only the Ontario native's third race of the season.  Nukuri takes home her fourth Big Ten Runner of the Week honor and third this season.

Men's Cross County Runner of the Week

Mike Woods, Michigan        

Sr., Ottawa, Ontario/Hillcrest

Woods placed seventh in the NCAA Pre-Nationals clocking in at 23:24.70.  His time topped any Big Ten runner at the meet and guided his squad to a fourth place finish.  The Wolverine senior will have one more meet to prep for the Big Ten Championships on October 28, in Columbus, Ohio.  This is Wood's first weekly honor.
