PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Eleven Big Ten volleyball players representing five conference institutions were named All-Americans, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Wednesday. Penn State and Stanford led the nation with three players each on the first team.

Penn State junior Nicole Fawcett and sophomore Megan Hodge each earned first-team All-America recognition for the second straight season, while Big Ten Player of the Year Christa Harmotto earned first-team accolades for the first time in her career. Nittany Lion sophomore setter Alisha Glass received a spot on the second team.

Wisconsin sophomore Brittney Dolgner earned a spot on the All-America second team, while Badger senior Taylor Reineke made the third team and her classmate Jackie Simpson earned honorable mention accolades.

Michigan placed two on the honorable mention squad in senior Katie Bruzdzinski and Mideast Region Freshman of the Year Lexi Zimmerman.

Rounding out the Big Ten's representation on the AVCA All-America teams, Michigan State senior Ashley Schatzle earned a spot on the third team, while Purdue junior Stephanie Lynch was named honorable mention.
