Michigan's Selsky and Ohio State's Meyer Earn First Weekly Honors of 2006

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Meyer was named the Towson Invitational Most Valuable Player last weekend as OSU went 3-0 to win the tournament title. The Buckeye junior twice set her career high in kills with 30 against Houston and 31 against Towson, while recording a career-high 34 points in each match. Over the weekend's three matches, Meyer averaged 6.33 kills and 7.12 points per game while hitting at a .362 clip. Last OSU POW: Marisa Main (10/24/05) DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Selsky earns her second Defensive Player of the Week honor of her career after being named the Most Valuable Player at the Rocket Volleyball Classic. The Wolverine junior posted four matches with double-digit digs and helped U-M to a .300 team hitting percentage, including a season-high .361 against host Toledo. Selsky averaged 13.85 assists per game and added a new dimension to the Wolverine defense with her superb defensive ability. Despite setting the table for the Wolverines, Selsky averaged 5.23 digs per game, leading U-M in digs in three of its four matches, including a season-high 21 digs against Wright State.
