Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Shana Cox, Penn State
Sr., Westbury, N.Y. / Holy Trinity
At the Arizona State Sun Angel Classic, Cox racked up three regional qualifying marks and two first-place finishes.  In the 400 meters, Cox sprinted to a winning time of 52.48 which currently ranks second in the NCAA.  The senior's second win came in the 1600-meter relay where she anchored her Penn State squad to a 3:32.90 result.  The New York native also recorded a fifth-place showing in the 200 meters crossing the line in 23.67.  All of Cox's performances last weekend were season-bests and rank first in the Big Ten.  The Nittany Lion sprinter garners her third career weekly award.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Stephanie Chin, Indiana
Fr., Bloomington, Ind. / South

Chin vaulted her way to the top of the Hoosier's all-time performance list at the Sea Ray Relays with a clearance of 13-11.25 (4.25).  The freshman finished first among collegiate competition and her mark currently ties her for first in the NCAA.  Along with exceeding the NCAA regional qualifying standard, Chin also bettered the Olympic `B' standard by five centimeters.  The Bloomington, Ind., native takes home her first career weekly honor.
