Women's Swimmer of the Week

Kelly Nelson, Penn State
Jr., West Chester, Pa./West Chester East
Nelson competed in two meets last week aiding her Nittany Lions to victories in both with a 216-63 win over West Chester and 203-94 defeat of Rutgers.  Against the Scarlet Knights, Nelson hit an NCAA automatic qualifying time in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall first at 1:58.48.  She also claimed top individual honors in the 500 freestyle, posting an NCAA `B' time of 4:52.60.  In the same meet, Nelson swam on the first-place 200 medley relay squad (1:43.62).  In facing the Golden Rams, the junior won two events, recording an NCAA `B' time in the 200 IM (2:03.80) and took part on the winning 200 freestyle relay team, timing in at 1:38.25.  Nelson earns her second career weekly honor.

Women's Diver of the Week

Chelsea Davis, Ohio State
Jr., Columbus, Ohio/ Worthington-Kilbourne
Davis swept the diving events and set a new pool record in a tough conference matchup against Northwestern on Saturday.  The junior's one-meter score of 318.53 now ranks first all-time at Norris Aquatic Center and also qualified her for the NCAA Zone diving meet.  Her 327.45 total off the three-meter also qualifies Davis for the national meet.  The Columbus, Ohio, native garners her second weekly award this season and the third of her career.
