OKLAHOMA CITY -- No. 2 seed Northwestern took the field for its second-consecutive appearance in the Women's College World Series semifinals Sunday afternoon at Hall of Fame Stadium, but ran into arguably the best pitcher in college softball history, bowing out of the 2007 WCWS by a 3-0 score against Tennessee and its ace Monica Abbott.

Northwestern concludes its season with a 52-13 overall record and a third-place finish at the Women's College World Series. The placing is NU's third third-place or better performance at the WCWS in program history. The Wildcats' 52 wins broke last year's school record of 50 victories.
