Pitcher of the Week
Brittany Weil, Iowa

Weil takes home her third career weekly honor and her second of the season after recording three wins at the Amy S. Harrison Classic last weekend. The junior allowed just one hit and struck out 23 in 14 innings of work. Against Utah Valley State on Friday, Weil teamed with sophomore Amanda Zust for a combined no-hitter before tossing a complete-game shutout to defeat tournament host UC Riverside on the strength of a season-high 11 strikeouts. In a rematch with Utah Valley State on Sunday, Weil captured her eighth win of the season, posting four strikeouts and allowing just one hit. On the weekend, the Garden Grove, Calif., native recorded a 0.50 ERA while averaging 7.7 strikeouts, one walk and one hit allowed per game.

Co-Players of the Week
Gina Mondo, Michigan State
Jr., 2B, Orange, Conn./Amity
Mondo earns her second consecutive Player of the Week honor and the second of her career after leading Michigan State to a 6-1 record last week, including an extra-inning win over No. 13 Baylor on Friday. The junior posted a .423 average and a .615 slugging percentage with a home run, two doubles, eight RBI and five stolen bases. Mondo also recorded four multi-hit games including a 3-for-4 performance against Coastal Carolina on Saturday in which she also scored three runs and went 3-for-3 in stolen bases. Against the nationally-ranked Bears, the Orange, Conn., native blasted a grand slam in the top of the eighth to seal the upset victory. Mondo leads the team with a .406 average, six doubles, 26 hits and six steals.

Katie Mitchell, Purdue
Jr., 1B/3B, Crown Point, Ind./Lake Central
Mitchell receives her first career Player of the Week award after posting a .500 batting average and a .824 slugging percentage as Purdue went 4-1 at the Under Armour Invitational last weekend. The junior compiled three multi-hit games and reached base in all five contests, also racking up seven RBI, five runs and four extra-base hits. Mitchell's best performance came in the Boilermakers' tournament finale on Sunday as she went 3-for-4 with a run scored, three RBI and a double to lead Purdue in a 6-4 victory over Long Island. The Crown Point, Ind., native opened the tournament with two-hit performances in back-to-back games against UT-Chattanooga and Missouri on Friday, also driving in three runs on a homer and scoring two against the Tigers.
