PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The Big Ten office announced the 2007 All-Big Ten and All-Freshman women's soccer teams, as well as individual award winners today.  Purdue, the No. 2 seed in the 2007 Tournament, claimed three of the four individual honors as Parrissa Eyorokon was named Offensive Player of the Year, while teammate Jessica Stellhorn earns Freshman of the Year accolades.  Boilermaker head coach Rob Klatte was honored as Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.  Penn State sophomore Alyssa Naeher takes home Defensive Player of the Year laurels.

Eyorokon ranks first in the Big Ten in overall points with 30 (12 goals, 6 assists), guiding Purdue to a 16-2-2 record.  The senior forward led an offense that tallied 2.80 goals per game which tops the conference.  The Boilermakers are the No. 2 seed in this year's Tournament, up one spot from last season. 

Naeher anchored a Nittany Lion defense that allowed a Big Ten low of 0.40 goals per game. While in goal, she totaled a save percentage of .892 which leads the conference.  The Connecticut native held six Big Ten opponents scoreless this year piloting PSU to the No. 1 seed in the Tournament.

Stellhorn made an immediate impact for Purdue in her young collegiate career.  She helped her squad to a stingy average of 0.50 goals per contest for all games. The Boilermakers also shut out 11 total opponents this year tying them for first in the conference.  

Klatte will escort his Boilermaker squad into its eighth straight tournament appearance equaling the highest seed Purdue has had in that stretch.  Klatte has also guided his West Lafayette team to a national ranking of eighth, which is the highest ranking in program history. 

The conference office also announced honorees from each team for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In addition, the student-athletes must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Honorees for women's soccer are Illinois' Shannon McDonnell, Indiana's Christie Kotynski, Iowa's Claire Goldenberg, Michigan's Lindsey Cottrell, Michigan State's Callie McCarthy, Minnesota's Sara Johnson, Northwestern's Shannon Schneeman, Ohio State's Amanda Ball, Penn State's Zoe Bouchelle, Purdue's Christy Riggle and Wisconsin's Ann Eshun.  These eleven student-athletes are now candidates for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, as the conference office will honor one male and one female student-athlete from each institution at the end of the school year.
