Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Nicole Edwards, Michigan

Competing at the Akron Quad, Edwards turned heads with her NCAA automatic qualifying mile run of 4:38.22 setting a new Stile Athletics Fieldhouse record by more than seven seconds and just missing her indoor school record by two seconds (4:36.08).  The Wolverine co-captain also won the 800m. run meeting with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:08.76.  Under the guidance of Edwards, Michigan claimed the meet scoring 170 points.  Edwards takes home her second career weekly honor.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Alicia Rue, Minnesota
So., Plymouth, Minn./Armstrong
Rue smashed the school record in the pole vault by over three inches clearing a height of 13-05.25 (4.10m.) to claim first in the event at the Minnesota Open.  Rue earns her second-consecutive weekly accolade and as many in her career.
