Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Jeff See, Ohio State
So., Middletown, Ohio / Middletown
See provided much excitement for his home crowd this past weekend at the Jesse Owens Track Classic.  The sophomore posted a new stadium record in the 1,500 meters, winning the event with a time of 3:40.86.  His performance ranks second in OSU history and currently stands as the nation's seventh-best time.  See bettered the NCAA Mideast Regional mark and owns the top time in that grouping thus far.  The Middletown, Ohio, native garners his first career weekly award.

Last OSU Track Athlete of the Week: Elon Simms (4/24/07)

Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Clarence Smith, Penn State
Jr., Coatesville, Pa. / Coatesville

Smith fired off the runaway to a personal-best triple jump of 52-02.75 at the Jesse Owens Track Classic last weekend.  His winning hop bettered the field by two feet adding nearly a foot to his previous career-best.  His distance is recorded as the fourth longest triple jump in Penn State history and currently ranks 13th in the country.  Smith picks up regional qualifier status and is honored with his first Big Ten Athlete of the Week laurel.

Last PSU Field Athlete of the Week: Ryan Fritz (4/17/07)
