Men's Co-Track Athletes of the Week

Marcus Thigpen, Indiana
Sr., Detroit, Mich. / Mumford

At the Alabama Relays, Thigpen claimed gold in the 100-meter dash breaking the tape in 10.47, improving upon his previous personal-best of 10.65.  The Detroit, Mich., native also qualified for the NCAA Regional meet with this race.  Thigpen would later team up with fellow Hoosiers and win the 800-meter relay in a time of 1:24.86.  In the same meet, the senior also posted a career-best in the 200 meters crossing the line at 21.77.  Thigpen garners his first career weekly honor.

Josh Hembrough, Purdue
Fr., Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern
Hembrough won his first collegiate 110-meter hurdle race last Saturday, topping the field at the Arizona State Invitational with a time of 13.88.  His time is good for NCAA Mideast Regional qualification and is the fifth-fastest mark in school history.  The Grand Rapids Mich., native picks up his first career Big Ten Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Sean Pruitt, Michigan
So., Cato, Wis. / Valders

At the Yellow Jacket Invite on the campus of Georgia Tech, Pruitt set a new school record in the hammer throw besting the old mark by over a foot.  The sophomore's third-place heave of 196-6 (59.90) qualifies him the for the NCAA Regionals in May.  Pruitt earns his first career weekly laurel.
