Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Masheto became the first Illini to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships, posting a 47.07 in the 400-meter dash at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.  The junior speedster also anchored Illinois' 4x400m relay squad, which broke the tape in a provisional qualifying time of 3:11.06.  This marks the fastest time in the Big Ten this season.  Masheto earns his first career weekly award.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Frank Shotwell, Michigan
So., Medina, Ohio/Medina
Shotwell shattered the Michigan school and Akron fieldhouse record in the heptathlon, scoring 5,525 points.  The sophomore broke the previous 13-year old Michigan mark by 217 points as he finished in the top three in all seven events.  Shotwell provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with his weekend performance. The Ohio native takes home his first career weekly accolade.
