Fitzgerald, Cooper and Holtz to be Inducted into College Football Hall of Fame
Three former Big Ten standouts are among the 15 individuals representing the 2008 College Football Hall of Fame Class, the National Football Foundation (NFF) and Hall of Fame announced on Thursday. Former Northwestern linebacker and current head coach Pat Fitzgerald, former Ohio State coach John Cooper and former Minnesota head coach Lou Holtz will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in December. National Football League Selects 28 Big Ten Student-Athletes in 2008 Draft
Twenty-eight Big Ten Conference student-athletes were selected during the 2008 NFL Draft, including two of the first six selections for the second straight season. The Big Ten, which is the only conference to produce at least one top-six pick in each of the last five drafts, registered four first-round draftees from four different institutions while 10 schools featured at least one selection during the seven rounds.
