Player of the Week
Geary Claxton, Penn State
Jr., F, West Haven, Conn./Hill Regional Career

Claxton claims Player of the Week accolades after posting a career-high 31 points and leading Penn State to a Big Ten record for points in a game with a 129-111 victory over VMI last week. The Nittany Lions broke a 41-year-old conference record for points, eclipsing the old mark of 128 set by Michigan in a win over Purdue on Feb. 19, 1966. Claxton shot 12-of-18 from the field (.667), while adding 11 rebounds for his conference-best fourth double-double of the season. With his 31-point performance, the senior forward also became the 27th Nittany Lion in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Claxton picks up his second weekly laurel as he was also honored on Nov. 15, 2004.
