Big Ten Basketball Media Day
Big Ten Men's Basketball Media Day will be held in conjunction with the Women's Basketball Media Day on Sunday, Oct. 29, at the O'Hare Marriott in Chicago, Ill. Format and times will be set at a later date. For credential requests, please contact either Scott Chipman or Robin Jentes at the Big Ten office.
Weekly Teleconference
The Big Ten will host a weekly men's basketball coaches teleconference every Monday during the Big Ten Conference season and one Monday in December (non-conference review). A schedule of coaches and times they will participate will be released when available.

The Big Ten Conference official web site can be accessed by visiting www.bigten.org. Statistical information and standings for all sports are updated on the web site frequently. Additional information such as schedules, news releases, feature stories and links to each Big Ten university and athletic department web site can also be found on the site.
Big Ten Players of the Week
A Big Ten Player of the Week is selected for men's basketball from nominations submitted by the sports information offices. Award winners are chosen by a vote of the conference communications staff and announced Monday morning.
Other Awards and Honors
Additional awards are selected for each conference sport. In men's basketball, those honors include All-Big Ten teams and an All-Freshman team along with Coach, Player, Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year awards. In most cases, these honors are voted upon by the coaches and media and announced either at the conference championship or tournament site and/or through a Big Ten press release.
Academic All-Big Ten teams are named for every sport. The teams are composed of all letterwinners who have a cumulative grade point average of "B" or better. Freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection.
