An Unexpected Find
Recruiting Gina Mondo was not something Michigan state head softball coach Jacquie Joseph set out to do. Typically the Spartans don't look for talent on the East coast and Joseph had no ties to Connecticut. Mondo, who hails from Orange, Conn., had no interest in playing at a northern school and only had warm-weather schools on her short list. Vaulted Expectations
Rochelle Robinson is still fairly new to Michigan State and the East Lansing area. The Chesapeake, Va., native is struggling to get used to her first actual Midwest winter, since last year fooled her with 50-60 degree days around New Year's. A Change in Plans
In her senior year at Clark Read Secondary in London, Ontario, Danielle Williams was convinced that following prep school she would take an extended vacation to Australia, leaving behind a career in diving. Participating at one of her final meets in Ontario, one in which Michigan State diving coach Eric Best happened to be attending, Williams drew the interest of the Spartan coach and quickly moved up to his list of potential recruits. A Special Someone
It was Valentine's Day 2006 and Rita Arndt-Molis was looking for someone special. She traveled more than two hours to find this person to talk to and one who would listen to what she had to say.
