Michigan States Gina Mondo has already earned two Big Ten Player of the Week awards this season. An Unexpected Find
Recruiting Gina Mondo was not something Michigan state head softball coach Jacquie Joseph set out to do. Typically the Spartans don't look for talent on the East coast and Joseph had no ties to Connecticut. Mondo, who hails from Orange, Conn., had no interest in playing at a northern school and only had warm-weather schools on her short list. But one day at a club tournament in California, the two people not looking to be found, found each other. Full story...

Rochelle Robinson recorded the only perfect 10 in the school history last year. Vaulted Expectations
Rochelle Robinson is still fairly new to Michigan State and the East Lansing area. Participating at one of her final meets in Ontario, one in which Michigan State diving coach Eric Best happened to be attending, Williams drew the interest of the Spartan coach and quickly moved up to his list of potential recruits. It was Valentine's Day 2006 and Rita Arndt-Molis was looking for someone special. She traveled more than two hours to find this person to talk to and one who would listen to what she had to say. She wasn't necessarily looking for a commitment right then and there, but she was hoping that the significant amount of interest she had in this person would be reciprocated. Full story...
