Graduating With Honors
Sunder Nix was arguably the country's top high school track and field athlete when he stepped foot on Indiana's campus as a freshman in 1980. In just one year's time, he was already a multiple Big Ten champion. In two year's time, he was a world record holder. After three years, he had become a U.S. national champion and capped his career off by earning Olympic gold during his fourth year. Indiana's Inspiration
It had been three weeks since Lauren Harling transferred to the Indiana women's golf team from NC State. Granted a full release from the school after the 2006 fall season, she was able to compete immediately for IU the following spring. Hoosier head coach Clint Wallman inquired one day last spring how she was fitting in with her new teammates and to his delight, one of his freshmen told him she couldn't even remember what it was like not having Harling on the team. Love In The Air
Adam Soldati knew he found someone special when he first met Kimiko Hirai. A quick-learning diver who was looking to transfer to a school with hopes of continuing his passion, Soldati went from California to Indiana University's diving camp 13 years ago and ended up meeting his future wife. Hirai was in Bloomington training under Hoosier diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber and opted to help out as a counselor for his camp. Back Home Again in Indiana
Sherry Dunbar has always been passionate about Bloomington, Ind. As a kid, growing up on the outskirts of the town, she always followed the Hoosiers and even attended the occasional home basketball game in the nose-bleed balcony seats of Assembly Hall.
